Tibetan Buddhist Prayer Box Pendant

from $28.00

This Prayer-Box is handcrafted in solid Sterling Silver by Nepali Village Artisans . It has multiple symbols chased into it. The smaller, horizontal  box /1”/ has The Buddha Eyes as well as a Dorje and an OM .
The slightly larger, vertical  box / 1” x 0.5”has Tibetan engraved on it.
One side opens and the Buddhist mantra OM_MANI_PADME_HUM is revealed on the inside.
We found these special pieces on our travels through Nepal in the ancient city of Patan known for it's talented Newari craftspeople who traditionally crafted many objects for trade with Tibet.

*The first word Aum/Om is a sacred syllable in various Indian religions. The word Mani means "jewel" or "bead", Padme is the "lotus flower" (the Buddhist sacred flower), and Hum represents the spirit of enlightenment.[4][5]
In Tibetan Buddhism, this is the most ubiquitous mantra and the most popular form of religious practice, performed by laypersons and monastics alike. It is also an ever present feature of the landscape, commonly carved onto rocks, known as mani stones, painted into the sides of hills or else it is written on prayer flags and prayer wheels.[6]

This pendant is available without [here identified as "0 inches"] or with a Stainless Steel Chain [17” or 19”Snake Chain].
For pricing and availability of solid sterling silver chains please send me a message.
