These earrings are made in traditional Newari style craftsmanship dating back to the time of the Kingdom of Lalitpur [Patan]Nepal.
Executed in 925 Sterling Silver they are covered with durable layer of 24 KG and set with 20 hand cut and polished Garnets.
We fell in love with this unique style when we first came to Boudhanath / Kathmandu where I discovered it in one of the shops close to the Huge Tibetan Buddhist Stupa, famous pilgrimage site visited by Tibetan Buddhists from all over the world.
We found out that it is a "dying skill" since it is so work-involved that the artisans skilled in it just don't make a good enough hour wage in Nepal and give up their traditional livelihood to became workers in the jewelry industry in Malaysia instead.
So we are happy to be able to offer you these rare jewels as a special keepsake to be treasured.
